1. Commitment to the Readers’ Privacy

Veni. Vidi. Linguas didici. respects your privacy and takes recent developments and tightenings of privacy regulations seriously. Moreover, the site’s privacy policy applies to all Personal Data (defined under 2.) processed by me through any of the contact points with one of more of my web products.

Personal Data” is information or pieces of information that could allow your identity to be revealed, e.g.:

How do I collect Personal Data?

This happens in a variety of ways:

Cookies have an important role as they allow a web server to transfer data to a device for the purpose of gathering information. It remains your decision wether you approve of cookies being collected. Now, if you do not wish that cookies through your online conduct are collected, then feel free to disable them in your browser settings.
  2. From other sources. For example, if you choose to connect your social media account to your Veni. Vidi. Linguas didici. account, I will obtain such Personal Data that you have registered in your profile, like email address, phone number, postal address, date of birth, name, and user name.
  3. From you browsing my blog. I may also collect information about your use of my services through your browser to trace activity on my sites, such as your Media Access Control (MAC) address, computer type (Windows or Macintosh), screen resolution, operating system name and version, device manufacturer and model, language, Internet browser type and version, service provider, and the name and version of the EF Product you are using.

How do I use the Personal Data?

I may use the gathered Personal Data:

  • For statistical purposes, calculating usage levels, and helping diagnose server problems.
  • To allow you to participate on message boards, chat, profile pages and blogs, and use other services, enabling you to post information and materials.
  • To adapt the content of the blog to your interests and preferences, providing you with a richer user experience and content that matches your interests.

Additionally, I do so to protect the Personal Data against unauthorized or unlawful processing. Furthermore, the blog prevents the accidental loss, destruction or damage of the Personal Data.

This Privacy Policy does not address, and I am not responsible for: the privacy, information or other practices of any third parties, including any third party operating any site to which Veni. Vidi. Linguas dedici provides a link.

5. How Long do I Store Personal Data?

I will only keep it for as long as it is necessary for the purposes for which it has been collected. However, the exemption is if I need to keep it longer for compliance with a legal obligation.

6. Sensitive Data

I do not wish to collect any sensitive data. This is data related to racial or ethnic origin, religious, political or philosophical beliefs, health condition, or criminal background. Yet in certain situations, this might be necessary. I will ensure that I receive your consent in such cases and treat this information as securely as possible.

7. Privacy Policy Updates

The Privacy Policy will be adapted and enhanced from time to time. Whenever possible, these changes will amplify your right. Might the contrary be the case, you will be informed.

8. Your Rights

You have a right to contact me without cost to find out which information about you that the blog uses. What is more, you are entitled to receive your Personal Data in a machine readable format and you have a right to transfer your personal to another data controller.

You may, at any time, withdraw your consent. Please note that such withdrawal could mean that I might not able to provide you with information, services, or products as you have requested.

Upon your request, I will also fulfill my obligation to correct Personal Data about you that is incorrect or incomplete.
